EXPERIENCES

Each experience is rooted in what we have been doing for years.
To truly understand, engage, and immerse yourself comes from living the real thing.

Horseback Riding

A world to discover—just as our pioneers once did, at the pace of a noble horse.

Chilesaurus Fossils,
Leichtle Escorial

FULL DAY

A horseback ride to the Escoriales de Leichtle, where we will see the lake from 1,500 meters above sea level. A short ascent will take us to the multicolored hills, offering breathtaking views, and to the fossilized remains of the last dinosaur species discovered here—the Chilesaurus.

Lunch will be served at the edge of a high forest, surrounded by green, pampas, and rolling hills, beside an old gaucho outpost—a small shelter at the end of the world.

Santa Clara/ Pampa del Zorro/ Montañoso

2 - 3 DAYS

A 2–3 day journey into the heart of Patagonia—lands few have set foot on, places known only to the gaucho. A journey that brings together rivers, enchanted forests, vividly colored escorials, glaciers, valleys, and mountain ranges.

We will travel toward Pampa del Zorro, where we’ll be captivated by the colors of the Cordón del Furioso, and rest in the stillness of the pampa. We will eat and sleep under the stars.

The horse will be our companion and guide.
A truly unique experience.

Cerro Pardo/ Almuerzo Laguna Norte

6 HOURS

The horseback ride across Cerro Pardo offers a privileged view of Lake General Carrera and the ice fields, turning the entire route into a true natural lookout over the lake.

We then continue our journey, immersing ourselves in a lenga forest—the heart of the mountain—until we reach the shores of Laguna La Guitarra, where we will have lunch and take in the surroundings, surrounded by trees, birdlife, mountains, and water.

Costa General Carrera/Almuerzo en Pampa Cosmelli

6 HOURS

To walk, ride, and gallop along the shores of Lake General Carrera marks the first stretch of our journey—a ride full of views and sensations.

After about an hour of horseback riding along the lakeshore, we will climb up to learn more about how the estancia operates, its animals, and the life of the gaucho. As always, we will find a special spot to pause, rest, enjoy a drink, and have lunch.

Caracuces Bramador, Ruta de Pioneros – Almuerzo

8 - 9 HOURS

We will climb through sandy stretches, ñirre groves, and lenga forests for approximately three hours, until reaching the Puesto de Caracuces—a hideaway at the end of the world—where we will rest the horses and enjoy an aperitif.

We will then begin a steep ascent for about an hour and a half, reaching the escorial zone. The route across the escorial is powerful, offering a privileged view of Lake General Carrera from 1,350 meters above sea level, with the Northern Patagonian Ice Field and Monte San Valentín rising to the west.

A well-earned lunch and a moment of rest will follow, before we continue our journey.

Hiking and Navigation

To navigate the majestic lake, to walk and discover its most magical corners.

Cerro Pardo Laguna Norte/ Almuerzo

6 HOURS

Exploring unknown, pristine corners is a gift that La Naviera offers. We will venture into a virgin forest, where lenga trees and rock formations take center stage. A trail along the edge of a large lagoon will lead us straight to the maitén groves.

Once there, a delicious lunch overlooking the ice fields will be the perfect pause before continuing our journey.

ISLA MACIAS.JPG

Lancha Isla Macias/ Almuerzo

5 HOURS

A unique beach of reddish sand on a magical island. Isla Macías rises like a painting before La Naviera.

We will sail there to settle in, enjoy the water and the sun, and explore the surroundings—forests, cliffs, and an unforgettable lunch in this exclusive place.

Marmol Guadal.JPG

Catedrales de Mármol de Guadal

1.5 HOURS

We will experience the unique journey of navigating the majestic Lake General Carrera basin. Its turquoise waters and towering mountain ranges will guide us to the marble caves near Puerto Guadal—part of a singular formation that stretches across the lake, passing through Puerto Río Tranquilo and reaching Puerto Sánchez.

It is the waves, over hundreds of years, that have shaped this extraordinary natural masterpiece.

Ruta Glaciar Leones/Almuerzo

FULL DAY

A low-difficulty hike through the Valle Leones, surrounded by coigüe, ñirre, and lenga forests, large rock formations, and the ever-present Río Leones.

After about two and a half hours of walking, a boat will be waiting to take us across the lake to where the waters meet the ice. An aperitif or lunch at the foot of Glaciar Leones will offer a moment to pause and take it all in, before we begin our return about an hour later.

HUEMUL

La Ruta del Huemul/ Almuerzo

5 HOURS

We will walk among ñirre and lenga forests, with views of endless woodlands and cliffs, always following the tracks of the huemul. We will read their signs and learn about their behavior and habits—hoping, if we’re lucky, to encounter one along the way.

** All our experiences are subject to weather conditions, snow in the mountains, lake conditions, wind, among others. They may not be feasible or may be modified.

I am sure that in many distant cabins, lost far away and marked by rising smoke, you will always be remembered for your warmth and the kindness with which you visited people, encouraging them with your generosity.

— Atilio Cosmelli, to Luz Pereira on the day of her passing 27 diciembre 1979.
